I grew up on one hundred and forty four acres between my father and two of his brothers. My father had forty acres but also used an additional thirty nine of one of the brothers. We had an average of thirty or more head of cattle and at times both hogs and chickens. My father had about an acre garden and my mother canned and froze basically everything that came out of it. When I was growing up we only had meat on Sunday. If my mother cooked a roast on Sunday for instance, we may have hash made from it on rice during the week. There were also two ponds we fished for bass, bluegill and crappie in all the time. The latter in my uncle's pond because it was fed by a spring.

I guess what I am expressing here is I grew up in a idyllic atmosphere. The method by which we grow up produces the fabric of how we fundamentally are. Faith influences it but the atmosphere plays its part.
